1 year NIDUM! The beginnings

Even if we can hardly believe it ourselves: Today is the anniversary of the day when the key for the NIDUM was handed over to us! On this rainy 18th of October 2016 the time had finally come: After long and difficult negotiations the former "For Friends Hotel" was history and our boss Max finally received the key to the house after the last signatures had been set. The NIDUM Hotel was born! Now it was time to breathe new life into our house, which had been closed for over 1.5 years.  In this article we want to give you a short insight into this exciting time!

Day 1: The Chaos begins

It was October 18, 2017, and what counted now was to get the NIDUM up and running within 2 months of the scheduled opening! What many do not know: We had been able to view the NIDUM exclusively in the course of 2 house tours. Many things were still hidden, we had no idea what would be waiting for us behind many doors. We knew there was a large office on the 3rd floor, so we went there immediately, while senior boss Manfred took care of the purchase of equipment for the outside maintenance. The first positive surprise: there were working computers, Internet and WLAN! After only a few minutes the first website of the NIDUM went online, computer technicians, software experts and network engineers were contacted within the first hours - and some of them appeared already on day 1! After a very late closing time we went to Seefeld for dinner, when we returned there was no stopping us: Until the early morning hours (almost) every door in the NIDUM was opened: Warehouses, magazines, technical rooms, cellars and much more were inspected for the very first time. It was amazing what was revealed!

These were a very intensive time! The entire building services were overhauled and made to run, countless staff interviews were held, first marketing campaigns started, photographers & creatives gave the NIDUM its incomparable touch. Chef Damnian took up his duties as well as our Michaela, who now acts as hostess and is Chef Max's partner. After our fantastic elevator did not work in the first weeks, we had to conquer the many stairs by foot, evil tongues claim that this is the reason why we neglected the 5th floor with the free rooms: It took 3 weeks that Michaela, who has just started her service, pointed out to us that there is a gap in the room plan, which she can not explain. Unforgotten the call from boss Max, who was out of the house and discovered the hastily created room photos on the website and asked the person responsible for marketing if he wanted to tease him. :-)

Final spurt until the opening

Somehow we managed to get everything right: The pools were warm again, the saunas hot, all rooms spotless, the beds freshly made, the finest smells coming from the kitchen again, the vinotheque stocked with fine wines again. The room plan well filled, all workplaces taken!
Last but not least, we have achieved what many did not think possible: In just 2 months, we made the NIDUM what it is today at its opening on December 22, 2016: a modern, open and casual hotel that meets the highest standards without being pretentious and stiff as a board. Casual Luxury, which we have breathed into the house in this short time and now live every day with our guests!
