The most important experiences at Christmas time in the NIDUM

How we look forward to winter! Now that the colorful autumn is approaching its climax, we at NIDUM and in the entire Olympic region are beginning preparations for another fantastic winter season, which begins with the Advent and Christmas season. If you want to spend your Christmas season or a glittering end of the year with us at the NIDUM and in Seefeld, we have put together two suitable offers for this.

We have summarized for you the most important experiences and dates for this contemplative time, which heralds the winter with us:

#1: The romantic Christmas market in Seefeld

Smell the first Christmas air? This is best done in the pedestrian zone of Seefeld, where from Friday, 29 November 2019 the romantic Christmas market takes place! High-quality gift ideas such as knitwear, beekeeping products, hand-carved nativity figures or alpine blacksmith's art are offered in the stylish log cabins, accompanied by hot mulled wine, homemade "Kiachl" and many other culinary delicacies. Numerous performances by choirs, brass bands and bands ensure a relaxed Christmas atmosphere. Children also get their money's worth here thanks to the "Engerlpostamt", pony rides and carriage rides!

#2: The Christmas Market in Innsbruck

The traditional Christkindlmarkt in Innsbruck takes place in the old town, directly under the golden roof already from Friday, November 15, 2019! Not only lovers of the old town flair are in good hands here, between the open stores it smells of roasted chestnuts, mulled wine and fresh Kiachln. The market between the medieval house facades can be best viewed from the viewing platform, daily the tower winders play in the oriel of the Golden Roof, right next to the largest Christmas tree in the city. The Innsbruck Christmas Market is open daily from 11:00 - 21:00 and can be reached from the NIDUM in just under half an hour by car.

Christmas market on the Hungerburg

The name is deceptive, of course you will be well supplied with culinary delicacies for the small hunger at the Christkindlmarkt on the Hungerburg! At the top station of the Hungerburgbahn, which was designed by star architect Zaha Hadid, you can enjoy the very best view of the lights of the Christmas city of Innsbruck with a hot drink in hand! Open from 16 November to 23 December 2019, Monday to Friday from 13:00 to 19:00, Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 12:00 to 19:00.

#4: Opening of the ski resorts

From 07 December 2019, the ski resorts Rosshütte and Gschwandtkopf will also join the round of winter openings. Numerous snow cannons, which are usually already active from mid-November, ensure snow reliability, but mostly Frau Holle already provides wintry conditions in the region from the beginning of December!

#5: Opening of the loipes

Attention cross-country skiers! The first cross-country ski trail in the Olympic region is expected to open as early as November 23, 2018! After the opening of this trail in Leutasch, all trails of the 245-kilometer cross-country ski area will then open due to weather conditions.

#6: The Scharnitz Women's Choir sings for us at the NIDUM

During the Christmas season, the Scarantia Women's Choir from Scharnitz honors us again this year at the NIDUM to get us in the mood for the upcoming Christmas. Find a cozy spot at the bar or in the library, let us serve you a mulled wine and enjoy the atmosphere by the crackling stove!
